DANIEL EDWARD JENKINS

DANIEL EDWARD JENKINS, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2017 in his home town of Fort Wayne, with his family at his side. Born on July 31, 1945, he was the son of the late Donald E. Jenkins and Mary L. (Beck) Jenkins Roth. He was a graduate of Elmhurst High School, a graduate of the General Electric Apprentice Program, and went on to work at GE for 38 years before retiring in 2002. Always game for adventure and competition, Dan enjoyed traveling to Alaska and various Caribbean locations with his wife, annual fishing trips to a remote island in Canada, cheering for Purdue sports teams, and always knew how to find a seat at a Hold'em table. He was a man of integrity and great ethics. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandra (Hostetler) Jenkins; his children, David E. (Janice) Jenkins, Douglas E. (Jennifer) Jenkins, Kira C. (David) Crecelius, and Krista L. (Bradlee) Quick; his 11 grandchildren, Austin, Adam, Kathryn, Arick, Brandan, Allison, Arin, Nathan, Jakob, Ava, and Marin; his sister, C. Ann (Gary) Crawford. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his brother, Robert E. Jenkins.
