CHARLES McBRIDE Obituary

CHARLES HAROLD McBRIDE, 80, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at his daughter's home in Battle Creek, Mich., with his family by his side after a heroic battle with cancer. Born Oct. 25, 1940, in Defiance, Ohio, he was a son of Grace Evelyn Maberson and Harold Earl McBride. He spent two years in the U.S. Air Force out of high school and most of his career was spent as a truck driver, lastly working for Bohren Logistics in Garrett. Chuck's hobbies included gardening, fishing and knife making which he turned into a side business known as MAC Custom Knives where he could be found at the Gun and Knife Shows selling the knives he had made and always ready with his grinder to sharpen knives that attendees would bring in. He is survived by his sisters, Deanna Languille of Gainesville Fla., Martha Ridenour and Linda Stevens of Auburn, Ind.; brother, Carl McBride of Fort Wayne; son, Ed McBride; daughters, Cynthia Campbell of Battle Creek, Mich. and Barbara (Ron) Bookmyer of Coldwater, Mich.; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. In accordance with Charles' wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
