Dennis Schoff Obituary
SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Dennis J. Schoff, 58 of Academy Street, died unexpectedly, Saturday, June 22, 2013. He was born Feb. 21, 1955 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Grenville S. and Virginia B. (Clough) Schoff. He graduated from York High School and Slippery Rock College. He had worked for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He was a member of the York Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed sports, working out at the Gym, being outside and spending time with his wife and family. He was an avid Patriots fan. He leaves his wife of 32 years Donna J. (LaMothe) Schoff; 3 brothers, Richard S. Schoff and his wife Mary, Kenneth F. Schoff and his wife Linda and Larry C. Schoff and his wife Janet all of York, Maine; a sister Virginia A. McAfee of South Berwick, Maine; a brother-in-law David R. LaMothe and his wife Barbara of Atkinson; a sister-in-law Susan B. Florent and her husband Peter of Haverhill, Mass., his mother-in-law Barbara Munroe of Haverhill, Mass.; many nieces, nephews and also his 2 cats Molly and Coco.
Calling hours for Dennis will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 27th in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd., York, Maine. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 28th at the York Street Baptist Church, 61 York St., York, Maine. Burial will follow in the First Parish Cemetery. I remember the day I got news of Denniss passing. I was on vacation in Utah and was awakened by a call and then shocked. I still miss my old friend and cherish all the good times we shared. You may be gone but you will never be forgotten.

Dennis was a long time friend and co-worker of my father Mike for many years. Dennis and my dad would go to many Patriot games and different events together and have good times. He was a great friend to my dad and I know he misses him dearly. He was always very kind. Our whole family "the Allan's" send our condolences to Dennis' family as we have you in our hearts and prayers.

Let me start by saying Dennis was one of my best friends, like a brother. We came up the ranks together until he bacame one of my peers. Dennis was liked by everyone he came in contact with and he will be sorely missed, I retired five years ago but we stayed in touch by phone and e-mail. My thoughts and prayers go out to Donna and the family.

To Donna and the Schoff family, although I did not know Dennis I could easily see what a special bond the both of you had. Our conversations at the gym always included a mention of something the both of you had just done together. I am so sad for you Donna I promise to pray that God heals your heart and seals it with the gratitude you have for having such a wonderful relationship. To the Schoff Family,
I worked for many years with Dennis at the shipyard. He was instrumental in the commissioning of the USS New Hampshire, for he worked with me on all of the rigging requirements for that boat. I was also fortunate to be in the USM degree program at the shipyard with him. He was an amazing person who would always go out of his way to be a good friend and his sense of humor always made me laugh. I will miss him dearly. Please accept my deepest condolences. The world has lost a truly considerate, caring person.
