Marcia E. Gibbons

KITTERY POINT, Maine - Marcia E. Gibbons, age 76 of Moores Island in Kittery Point, Maine died on February 6, 2015, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

Born in Exeter New Hampshire on December 22, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Byron and Grace (Seeger) Day. Marcia graduated from Portsmouth High School in the class of 1956, and went on to attend the New England School of Art in Boston.

She was an accomplished artist and active member of the seacoast community living in Kittery Point for over 40 years. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Kittery Point, the Kittery Art Association, and was involved in many other charitable causes.

She is survived by her loving family; her husband Bill Hazen, her daughter Sarah Drummond and sons David and John Gibbons, her son-in-law Peter Drummond, her step children Ted, Larry, Mike and Ellen Hazen. her grandchildren Grace and Hannah Drummond, Mathew and Tavis Gibbons, Molly and Julia Hazen, Gregory, Darren and Kimberly Hazen, and Luke Keniston.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the First Congregational Church at Kittery Point, on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to "End 68 hours of Hunger" of Kittery at www.end68hoursofhunger.org. Care for the Gibbons family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.

I will miss her beautiful smile when walking into a room. Marcia was a loving & caring person. We will miss her at our luncheons at PCC. Our sympathy goes out to her husband Bill, her children and her extended family

This is such a great loss to the Kittery community and the world. Marcia was one of the kindest, most generous women I have known. I will miss her on my yearly trips to Maine but I know that her beautiful spirit will be there forever. My sincere condolences to her family and close friends for their loss.
