How to place an obituary in The Frederick News-Post Obituary Submissions:
Obituaries are paid announcements. The Frederick News-Post is not responsible for content. All obituaries must be verified by the funeral home handling arrangements or a legal institution of record.
If you are using the services of a funeral home, the funeral home needs to submit the obituary notice through
https://memoriams.com. Deadline is 3:00 p.m. for next day’s publication.
If you are not using the services of a funeral home and submitting privately please email the notice to
[email protected]. The deadline for submission is 3:00 p.m Monday–Friday for the following day. Obituaries received after deadline on Friday are processed on Monday for publication on any subsequent day.
Please provide the following information in your emailed submission:
1. Your contact information, phone number and the best time to reach you.
2. The full name of the deceased
3. Date of passing
4. The deceased’s state and city/town of residence
5. The name and contact information of whomever is handling the arrangements to verify passing
Pricing varies. Once we have processed the information, we will contact you. The Frederick News-Post reserves the right to make any grammatical corrections as necessary.
