Patricia Chambers, nee Murray, died July 15 at Somerford Place in Frederick, from brain cancer (glioblastoma multiforme). She had lived in Frederick County for the past 35 years.

Her work won awards for both advertising and the almanac. After retirement, she became a tour guide at Rose Hill Manor until May 2007.

During her 35 years in Frederick County, Pat gave of herself to the community in her work and on numerous boards, including the Frederick Arts Council, the Maryland Regional Ballet, St. John's Catholic Prep ("Prospect Hall"), the St. John's Graveyard Committee, and the Frederick Art Club (first vice president 2005-2006, second vice president 2006-2007). She was an avid member of Frederick's League of Women Voters and Torch Club.
