Paul Toms Obituary
Paul Toms, 94, of Thurmont, passed away on January 11, 2019 at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was the loving husband of the late Margaret "Jean" Toms. Born June 13, 1924, Paul was the devoted son of the late Raymond and Lucy Cline Toms.

Paul was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in Rhineland Central Europe, who upon separation from Active Duty in 1945, was involved with the State Highway Administration along with MOSHA as an engineer and inspector on the original 15 and 70 roads as well as the Harbor Tunnel in Baltimore. Working under the guidance of Governor Schaefer he assisted with the expansion in Baltimore. Paul loved the outdoors and always was out and about, he loved working on cars, was a true Marylander all the way down to loving seafood, especially crabs. He was a farmer and loved animals.

He is survived by his sister, Idabelle Dimp Toms. Sons, Skip Toms and wife Penny, Rick Toms and wife Barb, and Kelly Weagly and wife Peggy. Daughter, Connie Hahn and husband Eddie. Grandchildren, Mark, Paula, Brent, Tara, Dylan, Tracy, and Terry. Great-grandchildren, Colin, Madelyn, Jaylen, Kyleigh, Hayden, Shelby, Dusty, and Robert. Great-great grandson, Jason, and niece, Penny Moser. His horse, Star, and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his brothers, Howard and Frank Toms. Sister, Margaret Toms. Grandson, Ryan Toms. And his dog, Bear.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 14th from 7-9 pm at the Resthaven Funeral Home, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick where a service will be held on Tuesday, January 15th at 1 pm. Interment with Military Honors will follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Frederick County at www.hospiceoffrederick.org, Shriners Hospital at www.shrinershospitalforchildren.org, or at .
