Martin Goge Sr. Obituary
Martin Goge of Edenton Retirement Community, in Frederick, MD, died peaceably on Friday, January 20, 2017. Mr. Goge served in Korea from 1951 through 1952 with the 45th Infantry Division, as 1st SGT. For his service, he was awarded the Bronze Star, and Combat Infantryman Badge. He later became a member of the Korean War Veterans Association, Frederick Chapter. Mr. Goge was employed locally as Executive Vice President of Hagerstown Leather, and later as Vice President of the Buckheimer Corporation. After retirement, he ran a workshop for developmentally disabled young adults at the Kennedy Institute in Washington, D.C.

He is best remembered by his friends and family for his sense of humor, his optimism, his insatiable curiosity and endless desire for knowledge, and most of all for his enormous capacity for love.

Mr. Goge was preceded in death by his wife, Jacquelyn. He is survived by his five children; Theresa Goge of Ridgway, CO, Martin Goge Jr. and his wife Jenny of Williamsport, MD, Maureen Goge of Bedminster, NJ, Jim Goge and his wife Julie of Westminster, MD, and Christopher Goge of Germantown, MD, his four grandchildren; Nicole Happel and her husband Brent, Alex Goge, Abbey Goge, and Ashley Goge, and great-grandson, Alexander Goge.

Services will be held prior to internment at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the would be appreciated.
