James Baker Obituary

Mr. James Creston Baker, 90, formerly of 32 Altamont Ave., Thurmont, and a resident at St. Catherine's Nursing Home, Emmitsburg, died Monday, March 13, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

He was the husband of Marion Baker of Greensboro, N.C.

Born Jan. 25, 1910, in Arcanum, Ohio, he was a son of the late Emanuel and Sarah Ethel Van Hart Baker.

Mr. Baker was employed with Slattery Construction Co. in New York as a consulting engineer, and served as an engineer on the construction of the Metro system in Washington.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in New York.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Barbara Frazer and husband Robert of Bellmore, N.Y.; one stepson, Richard Evans and wife Nancy of Greensboro; six grandchildren, Bonnie Constantin, Robert Frazer, Michael Frazer, David Frazer, Brian Frazer and Patrick Frazer; three great-grandchildren, James Constantin, Robert Frazer and Adam Frazer; one half-brother, Paul Bristley of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Home, 615 E. Main St., Thurmont, from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 15. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 16, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ruth Ann Miller officiating.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
