David Eugene peacefully passed at home in Berkley, MI on November 5, 2017 at the age of 71. He was born on Feb. 26, 1946 to Anthony and Mary Swanchara in Battle Creek, MI. After graduating from Battle Creek Central High School in 1964, he began his 49-year career with PNC Bank. While working part-time, David received his bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University. He also proudly served in the United States Coast Guard.



After receiving his master's degree in finance from Western Michigan University, David moved to Birmingham, MI to continue his career with PNC Bank as a trust officer where he met his wife, Elizabeth Emery. David also served on numerous advisory boards including the Boys & Girls Club of Royal Oak, Upland Hills Ecological Center and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.



David is remembered by his wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Jennifer; and son, Ian. His spirit also lives on through his brother Anthony (Virginia) Swanchara, and sisters, Mary (Phil) Allen and Nancy (Jack) Weber, along with all of his loving family and friends. David is pre-deceased by his sister, Betty (Paul) Nuelken and brother, Danny Swanchara.



A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 8 from 3pm-8pm at Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home in Berkley, MI. David's funeral service on Thursday, Nov. 9 will be held at 1pm in Berkley, MI at the Sawyer Fuller Funeral Home. The family will proceed with internment on Friday, Nov. 10 at the Battle Creek Memorial Park Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI at noon.
