Rochester Hills - September 15, 1954 - December 4, 2017, DEVOTED FAMILY MAN AND 44 YEAR CHRYSLER EMPLOYEE HAS PASSED, 63, passed away peacefully from lung cancer on Monday, December 4, 2017, at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital. Jean was born at Providence Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, on September 15, 1954, and Baptized at St. Patrick's Church on October 17, 1954. A member of the high-school football and wrestling team, Jean graduated from Clawson High School in June 1973 and immediately began working for Dodge Truck a subsidiary of the Chrysler Corporation. 44 years and many certifications later he retired from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) North American Headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan on September 22. He finished his career as a Vehicle Technician who specialized in the research and development of vehicle transmissions. Jean was also a 44-year member of the United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 412. The family's resident car expert and car show aficionado will be greatly missed. His deep blue eyes, his large smile that stretched from cheek to cheek, that booming voice that could immediately get your attention will be forever cherished by his family. Jean is survived by his son Steven of Warrensburg, MO, daughter Sheri (Michael) of Macomb, MI, and son Andre of Rochester Hills, MI. He adored his two grandsons Giovanni and Giacobbe Chirco and was deeply loved by his mother Jeannette and brother Joe as well as his late-father Jean. Jean's Goddaughter and niece, Nicole Latour, and Godson and nephew John Latour, along with his nieces and nephews; Robbie Zielinski, Michael Zielinski, Bill Clouston, Scott Tedder, Leigh Vogt (Tedder), Matt Tedder, Sarah Kimes (Brady), Elaine Brady, Caitlin Barber (O'Hara), and Neala O'Hara, their spouses and many great-nieces and great-nephews will remember his love, kindness, generosity, and words of encouragement. Jean was proceeding in death by his wife Jane (Stone) Latour who passed on December 26, 2015 and will be forever remembered by his loving sister-in-law's Janice Tedder (John), Antoinette Brady (Richard), Monica Zielinski (Robert), the late Patricia O'Hara (Shawn) and brother-in-law, Joseph Stone, and the late Edward Stone. The Latour Family were blessed with an angel who lived right next door for 30 years. She became their cherished friend and caregiver. Cathy Heemsoth gave new meaning to the word "friend'. For both Jean and Jane and their children she made beautiful quilts, would bring over meals, keep them company, and go on shopping excursions together. Jean will be greatly missed, but there is comfort in knowing that his spirit will forever dwell in our hearts. Jean's family will receive cherished relatives and friends at the A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home located at 2600 Crooks Road, Troy, MI 48084, from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8.
