Louisville, KY - John passed on to his eternal home on August 3, 2018, at the age of 78 in the company of his beloved wife Geraldine and his three children, Lara, Christa, and John after bravely battling prostate cancer for over 13 years.

John was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 3, 1939 to Lloyd and Mary Brecht. He graduated from Austin Catholic Prep School where he lettered in basketball and baseball. He left the priesthood after a little over a year of service and entered the world of business with Continental Bank in Chicago. There he began a management career in Information Technology that culminated in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he managed technology and bank operations for First of America Bank Corporation. When that bank was acquired, he moved to Louisville where he managed IT for National Processing Company for several years before heading up a Project Management group for Equiserve in Boston until retirement.

John loved his family, his friends, his church, and sports, especially the game of golf.
