After his hitch with the Marines, they married and settled down in Detroit and began raising their six children. Later they moved to Livonia in 1966. Thereafter all her children attended and graduated from college and soon began to marry and raise their own families.John (Jack) and wife Pattricia (Patty) and their two sons Daniel (Danny) and Thomas (Tommy). Gerald (Jerry) and his wife Beverly (Bev) and their two daughters Lisa (husband Chris and daughter MacKenzie) and April.

She took great pride in her children and their accomplishments, raising a trial lawyer, chief automotive engineer, aerospace engineer, regional sales manager, neonatologist and a marketing director.

Over the years the family gathered for many holidays at her home and at the family cottage, where swimming, skiing, boating, bonfires and barbeques, card games, puzzles, volleyball and other seasonal pursuits were played with gusto and friendly competition. Over all, Julie ruled the roost and directed these events.

Nothing made her happier than having her children and their children together and having fun. She would join in, so much so that she loved to go tubing. A life-long Catholic, she passed away knowing she would be reunited with the man she cherished above all, her husband Al who died in 2005.

The funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 4th at 10:30am, Instate 9:30am at St. Edith Catholic Church 15089 Newburgh Rd., Livonia. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions maybe made to Angela Hospice or . Please visit fredwoodfuneralhome.com for additional service information.
