Malcolm Kurepa Obituary
Malcolm Kurepa

Troy - Malcolm Kurepa passed away July 4, 2018 at the age of 96. He moved to Troy in 2002 to be closer to his family but he always considered Wyandotte his home where he lived for 70 years. Malcolm graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1940 and attended Lawrence Institute of Technology. A fine athlete in his day, Malcolm held a number of track records at Roosevelt, including a long-jump record for more than 50 years. He was also captain of the school's football team. He continued his love of sports becoming an outstanding golfer. Wherever he traveled he golfed.

For 60-plus years, he was a top salesperson in Michigan's wine and spirit's industry before retiring at age 94. It was a career that was well suited to his tireless socializing with countless friends and acquaintances. One of Malcolm's requests was to have his cell number chiseled onto his tombstone along with the inscription "Call Me."

Malcolm, a life-long Mason, was born January 17, 1922 in Dayton, Ohio. He was predeceased by his sister, Donna White; his in-laws, Mary and Mike Nicksich, Sophie and George Tomich; nieces, Deidra Clugston and Martina Nelson. Malcolm is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Millie (nee Nicksich); his three daughters, Danica (Lisa Peers) Kurepa, Cheryl (Steve Duthie) Kurepa, Marilyn (Joel) Nosanchuk; his sister, Mickey Trkula. In addition, Malcolm was the proud grandfather of James Kurepa, Hunter Kurepa-Peers, Davis Kurepa-Peers, Milana (John Gerlock) Duthie, Mara (Jake Beck) Duthie, Jordan Nosanchuk and Michael Nosanchuk; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Marie and George Nickson; beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. A private memorial will be held to celebrate a life that will be long remembered and cherished by his family and friends.

It is suggested that those who wish to further honor the memory of Malcolm Kurepa may do so by making a contribution to Beaumont Hospice (248-551-5330, www.beaumont.org/giving) or the .
