Raymond Joseph Age 84, of Sterling Heights, passed away unexpectedly on September 12. Beloved husband and best friend of Patricia (Skonieczny). Loving father of David, Karen (Ryan) Patterson, Joseph (Angela Schaper), brother of Edward; Grandchildren, Lauren, Olivia, Audrey, Brooke, Adam, and Mia. Predeceased by Frank, Helen Lyczak, and Chester. Born in Hamtramck to Stanley and Stella (Sieczynski). Ray was a science teacher at Pershing HS, a School Worker in Detroit Schools for 35 years. He had a BS, BA, and MSW. He was active in the community and church; he was a lector, EME, Funeral Ministry and Ray sang in all men's choir for over 50 years at Sts. Florian and Hyacinth; served 13 years on Hamtramck Board of Educ, active member of St. Florian, St. Clare of Assisi and St. Jane in Sterling Hts. He became a member of the Secular Franciscans St David Confraternity. Ray served in the US Army. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Amateur Mendicant Society of Detroit (a scion of Sherlock Holmes Baker St Irregulars). Visitation Friday from 3:00 until 9:00 pm with a scripture service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Service Saturday at St. Jane Frances de Chantal (Ryan Rd. S. of 17 Mile). Instate 9:30 am with Mass at 10:00 am.
