Alice Egan Obituary
Alice of Plymouth, June 23, 2017 age 91. Born in Buffalo, New York, to the late John & Minnie Coccia. She was a graduate of Mount Mercy Academy. Alice received her nursing degree from Sisters of Charity Nursing School at Canisius College. As a Registered Nurse, she worked at several hospitals in the Buffalo area. She was introduced to the love of her life John Egan, by her brother Angelo, his college roommate at St. Bonaventure. Alice was a very active 55 year member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. She loved playing bridge with her friends, solving crossword puzzles, and meeting with her book club. Alice and John were members of the Nomads Travel Club, through which they traveled the world. Most importantly, she kept up the Italian tradition of large Sunday meals with the entire family. Loving wife of 66 years to the late John. Beloved mother of Dr. John (Lupita) Egan Jr., Denis (Jean) Egan, Mary Alice (Dr. Wayne) Gillespie and Lisa (Tom) Hominga. Also survived by 7 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. Preceded in death by her sister Marie, and her brother Angelo. Visitation Wednesday 3-9 PM with a 7 PM Rosary at Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home, 46401 W. Ann Arbor Rd., (Btwn Sheldon & Beck) Plymouth. In state Thursday 10 AM until the Thursday 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 N. Lisa and Family,
I will always remember your Mom and Dad as two just wonderful people. You were blessed to have such great support growing up. . Your Mom could steer just about anyone in the right direction in life. She was so proud of you on your Wedding day, we laughed together remembering the years leading up to that time. I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you and your family in my prayers.

It was a pleasure and an honor to be Alice's home care nurse for many years. A very sweet lady, a fellow RN, a sweet soul. Eternal rest grant unto her Oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.
