Robert A. Caretti, Sr.
Barton City - Robert passed away Monday, March 26, 2018. He is survived by his sons, Robert Jr. (Joan) of New Baltimore and John (Lori) of Warren; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph "Merle" (Jean) Caretti of St. Benedict, PA and Kenneth (Rita) Caretti of Ebensburg, PA, and his dear friend, Joann Katona of Barton City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (nee' Crooks), and his parents, Joseph and Anna Madeline (nee' Donahue) Caretti. Robert served in the U.S. Navy aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Willard Keith (DD-775). He was a retired engineer and supervisor of Chrysler Corporation. Mr. Caretti is at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln, MI where friends may call on Saturday, March 31, from 3pm to 6pm. Visitation will continue Monday, April 2, at the Wujek-Calcaterra Funeral Home in Sterling Heights from 3pm to 9pm. A prayer service will be at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, April 3, at St. Rene Goupil Church in Sterling Heights where Mr. Caretti will be in state from 9am until the funeral mass at 9:30am. Donations in memory of Mr. Caretti can be made to Shriners Hospitals at www.shrinershospitals.org/Donate or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
