Virginia Marick "Ginny" Britton Obituary
Virginia "Ginny" Marick Britton

- - Virginia "Ginny" Marick Britton, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Harbor Hospice Poppen House, Muskegon, MI. She was born December 4, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA to Gladys and Gilbert Marick. She attended Albright College where she met and married William G. Britton in 1954. After living in Reading, PA, and Chicago, IL, Ginny and Bill settled in Farmington, Michigan. Ginny returned to school at U of M where she earned her Master's Degree in Social Work and worked for Farmington Public Schools as a social worker for many years. Both Ginny and Bill were very active members of Newburg United Methodist Church in Livonia, MI, where they had many dear friends.

Ginny and Bill loved to travel as well as spending time at their cottage in Prudenville, Michigan, but what they loved most of all was spending time with their grandchildren, followed closely by entertaining and socializing with friends and family. She is survived by her children, William (Sharon) Britton, Jr., and Susan (Michael) Kleaveland, her grandchildren: Britton (Josie) Kleaveland, Tyler Kleaveland, Daly Kleaveland, Lauren Britton, Carolyn Britton, and her nephews: Robert Britton, Jr. and James (Gloria) Britton. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her brother Gil, half-brother Rankin "Tommy" Thompson, cousin Howard Marick, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Barbara Britton. A special thank you to all of her supportive friends: and the loving caregivers at both Harbor Hospice Poppen House and Seminole Shores Assisted Living Center. Suggested Memorial: Harbor Hospice, or Newburgh United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be scheduled in the future at Newburgh United Methodist Church.
