Daphne (Johnson) Jones went to be with her savior on Thursday, August 2, 2018. Daphne was born on July 8, 1956, to Adrian and Wanda Adams, and joined her sister, Valerie, to complete their family. She grew up in Corcoran, CA. After attending college at Point Loma Nazarene University, and later, California State University, Fresno, Daphne went on to start a family and had two daughters, Ashley and Chelsea. She loved them deeply and they continued to be her pride and joy. Professionally, Daphne worked as a pre-school teacher at St. Agnes Medical Center, and elementary teacher at Tarpey and Valley Oak Elementary Schools in Clovis Unified School District. She was a finalist for Fresno County Teacher of the Year, as well as having a long, rewarding, and impactful career teaching and coaching hundreds of children. In November 2014, Daphne was blessed to love and marry Ron Jones. In retirement, she and Ron were able to have many great experiences and continue to celebrate their faith, love and enjoy their blended families. Daphne brought happiness to many through her love, compassion, and sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Adams. She is survived by her husband, Ron Jones; her father, Adrian Adams and wife Irene; her sister, Valerie Smith and husband Gerald; daughters, Ashley Johnson, and Chelsea Toews and husband Hunter; step-children, Sarah Jones and husband Brian Biehl, and Derek Jones and wife Amanda Davies, along with their children, Jaden and Keira Jones. Daphne loved being "Grandma Daphne" to her grandbabies. A Celebration of Life will be held at New Covenant Community Church in Fresno, CA, on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations in Daphne's memory may be made to New Covenant Community Church, 1744 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720; or the organization of your choice.
