Kenneth Schulte was born on July 10, 1933, in Duquoin, KS, and passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018, from cardiac issues. His family moved from Wichita, KS, to Fresno, CA, in the late 1940s. He was the third oldest of 11 children. After high school graduation, he began working at The Fresno Bee, taking time for service in the United States Navy. He served as a radarman on the USS Bearss. Ken returned to The Fresno Bee, retiring in 1991, after 40 years of service. Ken and his wife, Sandi, began an antique business in 1988. He remained actively involved until the first of this year. Ken was a talented craftsman and excellent woodworker, capable of building or repairing most anything. He was always involved in a project of some kind. Ken enjoyed sharing his woodworking, model railroading, and antiques knowledge. He enjoyed the laughter and comradery with all in the store. He holds a special place in our hearts and will be deeply missed. Ken is survived by Sandra, his wife of 52 years; as well as his daughters, Candyce Thomson, and Kellie Wyckoff; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers; a sister; and many nieces and nephews. In accordance with his wishes, no service was held.
