James Ralph Blevins Obituary
Graveside service for James Ralph Blevins, 85, of Southside, will be at noon Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at the Williams Southside Memorial Park, with Brother Lauil Thompson officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Williams Southside Funeral Home will direct.
Mr. Blevins passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019. He was born Feb. 28, 1933, to Loyce and Lela Blevins and was a lifelong resident of Etowah county.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was retired from BellSouth. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his two sisters, and his wife, Peggy. He is survived by his son, Jay Blevins (Penny); daughter, Jana Powell; beloved grandchildren, Crystal Vasser, Brittainy Monastesse, Jami Blevins, Taylor Powell, and John Michael Powell; nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be John Michael Powell, Korey Vasser, Daylon Blevins, Raymond Sprinkle, Jon Monastesse, and Matt Vasser.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Men's 70 Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church or .
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staffs of Royal Haven at Regency Pointe, Sumter Health and Rehabilitation, and Legacy Hospice.
