Gail Burnett Obituary

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at Crestwood Funeral Home for Gail Burger Burnett, 69, of Gadsden, who died Monday, Sept. 8, 2014. Bro. James O. Wallace will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
She was a lifelong resident of Gadsden, Ala. She graduated from Etowah High School in 1963. She went on to receive a paralegal degree from Ashworth University.
She worked in the legal field for over 40 years, and her specialty and passion was helping disabled citizens get their Social Security benefits.
She was a member at Higher Ground Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Burnett; parents, D.C. and Mildred Wagnon Burger; sisters, Jane Fambrough and Sue Sewell; brothers-in-law, Ralph Sewell and Red Yates; and sister-in-law, Jean Burger.
She is survived by her siblings, Ann (Frank) Stanfield, Sarah (Kenny) Kramer, Cornelia (Charles) Littlejohn, Jerry Burger, Dewey (Toni) Burger, Stella Yates; her furry friend, Rufus; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Special thanks to Dr. Sandra Carpenter and to Becky and Krystal from Alacare Home Health and Hospice.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
