Frances Marie DeHoff, 74 , of Gainesville, Florida passed away peacefully in her home on October 3, 2018. Frances was born on May 5, 1944 to the late Edward and Ermalinda Waters in Miami, Florida. She grew up in Miami and is a 1961 graduate of Miami Beach Senior High. Frances married her beloved husband, John N. DeHoff Sr., on March 16, 1974. The couple relocated to North Central Florida in June of 1988, where they continued to raise their family. Frances worked as a medical transcriptionist at the Tacachale Center in Gainesville. After 20 years, Frances retired from the hospital. In her free time, she enjoyed word puzzles. Frances had a deep appreciation and love for the beauty of God's creation. She enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. Frances loved to garden and she enjoyed going fishing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her precious grandchildren. Often you could find Frances in her kitchen, where she would be cooking for her family or even making a dish to share with friends. She was full of love and kindness. At times, Frances would happily go without so that others could have. While in Hospice care, she wasn't worried about herself. At that time, Frances continued to expressed concern and care for her beloved husband, John. She faithfully and fervently prayed for her family, friends, or for anyone in need. Frances continued those prayers until her last breath. To her sons, John Jr and Charles, their mother was the perfect example of love. Clearly, Frances recognized what a blessing and a gift love is. She enjoyed her blessings, while in this life. A legacy of love, is what she has left for her family to cherish. Frances Marie DeHoff is preceded in death by her father, Edward Waters, mother, Ermalinda Waters and brother, Eddie Waters. She leaves her loving family behind to cherish her precious memory.
Frances Marie DeHoff is survived by her husband of 44 years, John N. DeHoff Sr., two sons, John Jr. (Nancy) DeHoff and Charles (Loraine) DeHoff, one brother, Tommy Waters, one sister, Margret Wix. She is also survived by four precious grandchildren, John III, Ashley, Autumn, and Mikey.
A funeral service will be held in honor of Mrs. Frances DeHoff on Monday, October 8, 2018, 11:00 am at Morgan Road Baptist Church in Starke, FL. The family will receive friends one hour prior for visitation service. Arrangements are under the care of Archer Funeral Home of Lake Butler, Florida.
