Mrs. Dorothy Perry Richardson, 72, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018, at North Florida Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Richardson was a retired food service aide with Shands Hospital. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist/ Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She served on the Mother's Board, Choir Member. She also served as the Jerusalem District Women's Dept. Local president and choir member, past president of Helping Aide Convention, chaplain Alachua County Ministers Wives and Widows, Inc. and a member of the Grand Female Protective Society, Inc. Lodge #10 where she was the chaplain and a choir member. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Richardson. Survivors include her husband, Rev. J.B. Richardson, Gainesville, FL. Stepson; Eric Richardson, Gainesville, FL, step-daughter Jacquelyn Smith (Abram) Archer, FL, sister, Margaret Jefferson (Matthew) Jacksonville, FL and one grandchild.
Funeral services for Mrs. Richardson will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Female Protective Temple with Rev. James Crawford, Jr. officiating burial will follow in Patterson Cemetery under the care of Chestnut Funeral Home, 18 N.W. 8th Ave Gainesville, FL. Visitation Friday Chestnut Memorial Chapel 1:00 - 4:00 PM 5:30-7:30PM at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Hampton, FL. and on Saturday at the Temple one hour before the service. Family members are asked to meet at the temple on Saturday at 2:30 PM.
