JERRY LOVETTE Obituary
Gainesville - Jerry Leon Lovette, age 70, of Gainesville, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 5, 2014. He was born in Burlington, North Carolina on March 25, 1943. After moving to Gainesville in 1998, he served in property management at Haile Plantation, as Athletic Director at Cornerstone Academy, self-employed in lawn maintenance, and as a deacon at Creekside Community Church, Gainesville, Florida.
Carrying on his faithful legacy are his wife, Lee Medina Lovette; his children: Doug (Nancy) Lovette; D'Lynn (Seth) Nettles; Joseph (Corrie) Lovette; and Andrew Lovette; and his grandchildren: Bryant, Lauren, Morgan, Harrison, Hannah, and Taylor. He is also survived by his parents, Edward and Dapathana Lovette of Burlington, North Carolina; his brother Bill Lovette of Burlington, North Carolina; and his sisters Jane (Bob) Leonard of Charlotte, North Carolina and Debbie Turner of Graham, North Carolina and their families.
The service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Creekside Community Church, 2640 NW 39th Ave, Gainesville, Florida. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. An additional service is planned in Raleigh, North Carolina on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 4:00 pm at North Raleigh Chapel, 5421 Six Forks Rd, Raleigh, North Carolina 27609.
In lieu of flowers the Lovette family requests donations be made to Gainesville Community Ministry (GCM), 238 SW 4th Ave, Gainesville, Florida 32601.

Sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. He and my husband, Postelle Brown, knew each other through the grocery business. I also knew and loved Jerry. He was a very good person and father. He and Postelle are together again in Heaven. Postelle passed away December 7, 2012, and I miss him dearly. My love and prayers are with Jerry's family.
