Robert Ford Pinson Sr., 95, of Gainesville passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018, in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. James Elrod officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 14, 2018, from 6-8 p.m.

Born on Oct. 29, 1922, in Gainesville, Ga., he was the son of the late Claude and Dixie Lee Pinson.

Mr. Pinson was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a loving father and grandfather. He loved gardening and sitting outside enjoying the sunshine. Mr. Pinson was a butcher by trade at B & L Grocery in Gainesville. He loved his church and was a founding member of McEver Road Baptist Church. He was a Gideon. Most of all he loved Jesus. He is rejoicing and singing with the angels in heaven.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Pinson is preceded in death by his wife, Vera Johnson Pinson; son, Bob Pinson; brothers, Bryson Pinson, C.T. Pinson, Edward Pinson; and sister, Kathleen Abernathy.

Mr. Pinson is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Claudette and Stacy Bragg; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Sandra Pinson all of Gainesville; grandchildren, Mitchell Pinson, Hillary Hutchinson, Samantha Wrisley, Michael Pinson, Charlie Pinson, Maddie Bragg, Emilee Bragg; great grandchildren, Kane Allen Hutchinson, Indiana Robert Pinson; brother and sister-in-law, Hoyt and Mildred Pinson of Gainesville; and a number of other relatives.
