Phyllis Perry Obituary

Phyllis Maurine Perry, age 95 of Gainesville, GA passed away Jan. 26, 2019. Mrs. Perry was born in Commerce, GA on July 30, 1923 to the late Stoy Harris and Lois Deadwyler Harris. She retired from the City of Gainesville after 31 years as the administrative assistance for the city manager, and was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville and the Winsome Sunday Class.
Mrs. Perry is preceded in death by her parents as well as her first husband John Irvin, and her second husband Merrell Perry. She is survived by her children, Lynda Sue Trice, Barnesville, Ga.; Craig & Sue Perry, Clermont, Ga.; Johnny & Norma Irvin, Maysville, Ga.; grandchildren David & Missy Trice, Roswell, Ga.; Vikki Trice, Barnesville Ga.; Angie & Russ Pomrenke, Braselton, Ga.; Tracy Cofer, Hoschton, Ga.; Karen and Jeff Whitaker, Gainesville, Ga.; Melissa Kyle Hollingsworth & Toby Carlin, Van Nuys, CA; great-grandchildren, Katherine Trice and Cooper Trice, Amber Castleberry and Wade Castleberry, Aubrey & Michael Conners; Maurissa and Jeremy Anderson, Cyan Whitaker, Griffen Elesh, Matt Smith, Jessica Smith Alex & Brandon Kidd, Jenna Cofer, great-great-grandchildren, Brian Kidd and Ansley Kidd, Madison Furrow and Harper Cofer, Myles Irwin, Cameron Connors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019 from 2 until 3 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Bruce Fields officiating. Interment will be held at Alta Vista Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the First Baptist Church Music Program or to the First Baptist Church Ministry of Caring, c/o First Baptist Church Gainesville, 751 Green Street NW, Gainesville Ga. 30501.
