Gaston County and the whole world has lost a great man. I've known Joe since coming to Gastonia in 1997 to run the Girl Scouts. Whenever we needed anything for Camp Rotary I'd call Joe and he'd take care of at no charge. He was such a deeply good person, so unassuming and humble, yet passionate about the things that mattered to him. I am so grateful to have known him, and he will be missed. My love and condolences to the family.

Joe and I were GHS Class of 1955 classmates and we worked on several high school reunions. He was a good friend and will be missed by many. Prayers for you and the family, Gloria, and may God give you peace and comfort.
