April Hardin Obituary
April McAndrew Hardin passed away in her home on August 3rd, 2018, in West Jefferson, NC.

April was born in Mecklenburg County to Carroll McAndrew and Debbie Shelberg on September 25th, 1983. She was married to her loving husband Charlie Hardin on October 27th, 2007. April was a native of Gaston County, which is where she spent most of her life. April and Charlie moved to West Jefferson in February of 2009 where both began serving the Lord at Samaritan's Purse in Boone.

April and Charlie began building their lives in West Jefferson. Their home was always opened to family and friends, who would often show up for surprise visits. Their home became a favorite mountain getaway for the families. April always loved when family came to visit and enjoyed showing them around their small mountain town. She loved taking the families on hikes, fishing, and tubing down the New River. April and Charlie loved their families with all their hearts.

April loved nature and had a passion for all animals. One of her favorite things to do was watching the butterflies in the North Carolina mountains. She and Charlie would often find or were given chrysalises and would watch as they slowly transformed into butterflies. April loved arts and crafts and was always making gifts for family and friends. She was a true friend and companion. She had a special place in her heart for the elderly and children. She showed love to all she met.

April is survived by her husband Charlie Hardin; her grandmother Sarah Cates ; her mother and stepfather Debbie Shelberg and Carl Haney; her father and stepmother Carroll and Frankie McAndrew; her sister Logan McAndrew. April is preceded in death by her brother Jason McAndrew.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm August 11th, at Cramerton Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Ron Duncan officiating.

The families wish to extend our sincere thanks to our friends, family, church families, and Samaritans Purse family who are holding us up in prayer during this time of loss.
