Carl Childers Obituary

WATERLOO, S.C. - Carl Edward "Speedy" Childers, 80, of 31 Lois Lane, passed away March 21, 2013, at his home.

Born in Marion, SC, he was the son of the late Alma M. Childers and Credie Sivedge Childers. Speedy was an independent electrician until his retirement and was a member of Shade Tree Revival Baptist Church. He loved to ride his Harley and sip his Peppermint Schnapps.

Surviving are his children, Teresa Louise Childers, Carl Edward Childers, Jr., Helen Bentley, Jerry Grey, Dwayne Childers, Jessica Brown, all of Waterloo, Donnie Childers and Christy Welch (David), both of Gastonia, NC; a brother, Charles Childers of Gastonia, NC; and ten grand-children.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Grady Lockridge officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Laurens County, P.O. Box 178, Clinton, S.C. 29325.
