Henry Raxter

Henry Raxter, born in 1942 in Gaston County, North Carolina, a son of the late Hardy and Bonnie Green Raxter. Henry leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Linda Guffey. He is also survived by his 2 sons, Jay (Vonne) and Lee (Darlene). He leaves behind 4 grandchildren who were the light of his life, Hunter, Holden, Andy and Savannah Rose Raxter. Henry was preceded in death by his 7 brothers and sisters, Earl Raxter, Zona Cross, Viola Lytten, Jewel Boyd, Gene Raxter, Jack Raxter and Carolyn Russell.

Henry proudly served in the U.S. Air Force enlisting after he graduated from high school. He was an avid gardener growing beautiful flowers and he enjoyed working in his vegetable garden. He was an Emeritus member of G.C. Master Gardeners.

Henry was an Industrial Innovator. He retired as President and CEO of Plastic Products, Inc. in 2008. He was a mentor to many in the early days of plastic technology. Henry was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church. He served in many ways most memorable of which was the 11 years he spent as UMYF counselor and the many young lives he touched during that time.

The family will receive friends from 1 - 2 pm, Friday, June 18, 2021 at Covenant United Methodist Church. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm.
