IRON STATION - Roger Dale Brown, 72, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House, Dallas.

Roger was born in Greer, SC, son of the late James Edgar and Betty Lou Campbell Brown.

Roger was of the Baptist faith. He served in the US Army National Guard. Roger retired as a truck driver with Yellow Freight. Among his accomplishments include being a member of the Softball ASA National Hall of Fame, NC Softball Hall of Fame and a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball Organization.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Earl Brown; son, Chad Roger Brown; daughter, Traci Brown High (Chris); brother, Eulon Brown (Pat); sisters, Linda Dillard (Joe), Wanda Penland (Rick), Cathy Roberts; grandchildren, Jonah High, Chandler and Luke Brown; numerous nieces and nephews, and his loyal companion, Toby.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 6 until 8:30 p.m. at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 in the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia with Rev. Ronnie Bowers officiating.
