KREISMAN, Sam. Peacefully, in his ninety-third year on Wednesday, May 28, 2008. Beloved husband of Beatrice Morein for sixty years. Dear father and father-in-law of Moishe and Miriam, Irwin and Audrey, Peter and Janice. Cherished "Zaidie Sam" of Dovid Shimon Yisroel, Liba Shaina, Rivka Sarah; Sarah, Arielle and Josh; Sarah and Jacob. Predeceased by his sisters Gertie Kreisman and Lily Balinsky. Brother-in-law of Joyce and the late Yudi Morein, Rhoda and the late Mendy Morein and the late Rose Morein, the late Moishe Kreisman, and the late Max Balinsky. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, family and many friends. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his nephew Dr. Harvey Kreisman, and his cousin Abbey Kreisman for their guidance and support. Special thanks to Dr. Willis Grad, the doctors, nurses and staff of 2 Main, Jewish General Hospital and to his caregivers Kenneth and Edison for their exceptional care and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon W. on Friday, May 30 at 1:30 p.m. Burial at the Chevra Shaas Congregation Cemetery, De La Savane. Shiva at 6005 Cavendish #401. Donations in his memory may be made to the "Dr. Harvey Kreisman Fund for Pulmonary Oncology Research" c/o the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251 or to the charity of your choice.

Auntie Bea,Murray,Irwin,Peter to all of you and your families and cousins-we were sad to hear of uncle Sam's passing. We know he had a long and happy life and we hope that you find comfort in that. Our thoughts are with you and we are sorry that we cannot get to montreal in time for the funeral. I guess it feels like the end of an era. The passing of a generation draws nearer... with uncle Sam's passing. Gone are the years of all of the holiday family gatherings;the seders and singing until wee hours of the night; the breaking of the fasts and the bar mitzvahs and the parties that ensued while leftovers were to be consumed. We remember with fondness our uncle Sam always smiling, often dancing in his own unique style and singing the prayers in his own special way- the kreisman way as we referred to it. Lucky he got to see all his sons married and meet and spend time with all of his grandchildren. Lucky to have been married for so many years to that special lady, the true talent in the family. We will miss him but we know that somewhere he is smiling down on all of you... Big hugs from all of us in the french alps.
