PINTO, Sheila (nee Schwartz) On Saturday, August 29, 2009. Beloved wife of the late Alexander Salvador Pinto. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Maxine and Roman Peker, and Robin Pinto. Cherished Grandma Sheila of Michaela, Andrew, and Greg John Lefas. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Harry and Maxine Schwartz, and the late Beatrice Wald. Special thanks to Sheila's cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends who were there for her always; as well as the Palliative Support Care Service at the Jewish General Hospital and all the staff at Mount Sinai Hospital and CLSC Saint-Laurent. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, September 1 at 12 noon. Burial at the Adath Israel Poale Zedek Anshei Ozeroff Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva from 12 to 8 p.m. daily, at 1582 Alexis-Nihon Blvd., Saint-Laurent. Donations in her memory may be made to the Mount Sinai Auxiliary, (514) 369-2222 ext.: 1334.

I felt very sad to hear about Sheila, she was such a vibrant, cultured and kind lady. I was so happy to know her and to have the blessings that she was close to my son.

Her lovely daughter Robin is my son’s other mother (stepmother). Throughout the years my son expressed on many occasions the happy times he shared with Sheila. I will always be grateful to her, and look up to her as a truly wonderful beautiful woman in every way,

Dear Robin and Maxine,

My condolences to my daughters Maxine and Robin. I first met Sheila when she was 15. We were married when she turned 19. 57 years ago. Although we were seperated over 40 years agoI remember Sheila as a beautiful, exciting, passionate, warm, sensous woman. It was like being married to a movie star. Sheila was way ahead in her time with physical culture, exercise and fencing. She won the YMHA fencing championship in foil and epee even though she had to compete with men too.
