JACK GORDON Obituary
Peacefully, in Toronto, on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 in his ninety-seventh year. Beloved husband of the late Pinnie Goldenberg Gordon. Much loved father of Caren and Michael Levy, Mark and Pat Gordon. Devoted grandfather of Sara and Jeff Shapiro, Alissa Levy, Rachel and Susan Gordon. Special thanks to Linda and Leah, his cherished companions. Graveside service in on Friday, December 2 at 10:00 am. at the Chevra Kadisha B'Nai Jacob Congregation Section, Back River Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Berri Street. Shiva in Toronto at Caren and Michael Levy's home from Sunday, December 4 to Tuesday, December 6. Contributions in his memory may be made to the "Jack and Pinnie Gordon Memorial Fund" c/o the Baycrest Geriatric Centre, Toronto, ON, (416) 785-2500. Arrangements entrusted to Paperman & Sons.

Jack was a special "double" cousin of mine - through his father (Abraham Gordon) he was my mother's first cousin, and through his mother (Hattie Takefman), he was my father's first cousin. In fact my parents first met through Jack's wife Pinnie!
I remember Jack fondly from when I was a young boy attending the Chevra Kadisha on Saturdays. He always had a kind word for me, especially after my father's death. I last saw Jack 12 years ago at my mother's unveiling in Montreal.
I join Jack's family in mourning his loss and remembering him with a smile.
