Dear Pearl: I am in NY visiting my children, and am ready to leave on a cruise when I got a message on my machine from Mark giving us the terrible news. I do feel that I was close to you and we shared the same love of family. I can only start to understand the loss that you've suffered. Dear Pearl,
In spite of the sad circumstances surrounding Avrum's z'l death I was pleased that we had a chance to talk to each other yesterday.
I've known him and his parents Ray and Louis z'l all my life, since childhood at UTT, Camp Massad and the Montreal community.
I recall some of your dating days' details with Avrum on De Vimy.
To have just 'seen' him 'alive'in our wedding movies a few weeks ago is very eerie. Camp pictures with Avrum, glasses et al adorn my entryway.
Will miss him personally as a serious classmate, a fine young man, a kind gentleman and well-respected lawyer.
Joel (who is also very shocked!) joins me in sending you and your family strength from HaShem.
I have met Heather and Aviva, but am not sure about Jefferey. Please give them a warm hug from me.
Please stay in touch and let me know how you and your kids' lives progress.
