Clara LEFKOVITS Obituary
1935 - 2012
Died peacefully on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Paul Lefkovits. Devoted mother of Shirley and Tom. Cherished nana of Michael and Kelsey. Dear sister of Erika and Aniko. Loving mother- in-law of Perry and Sue. Caring sister-in-law of Fred and Eva Kantor, Leslie and Edith Lefkovits. Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 4 p.m., followed by a service at 5 p.m. A reception will take place immediately following the service at the Rideau Funeral Home at 4275 boulevard des Sources, in Dollard des Ormeaux, 514 685-3344. The family would like to thank the staff of the "Three West" wing at the Lakeshore General Hospital for their empathetic and compassionate care in her final months. We would also like to thank Pamela and Emmy for the care and friendship they bestowed on Clara over the last few years. Donations can be made to the Montreal children's hospital in her memory.

Many years ago Clara and Paul befriended me when I was a summer lifeguard at the Alpine Inn in Ste Marguerite. They hired me to teach Shirley and Tommy to swim. A few years later they were guests at my wedding at Mont Gabriel (41 years ago).
We lost touch as the years passed. However, just last evening I was moved to search for them online as a result of reading the novel "The Invisible Bridge". I was so saddened to think that beautiful Clara had so recently passed away. It brought back many sweet memories for me of times spent in the company of Clara and Paul in the Laurentians. And my husband still owns the leather coat purchased at Paul's factory.
My heartfelt sympathy to all your family and my prayer for the blessing of your own sweet memories.

Dear Shirley
Many mornings at work I got a kick out of asking you if you had called your mother, but you certainly didn't need me to remind you - you were always checking up on her to make sure she was alright, and if she needed anything. You were always so devoted to her and I'm sure it was appreciated. My thoughts are with you and your family at this time. Mark
