Peacefully, in his one hundredth year, on Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Cherished husband and soul mate of the late Esther Cohen for over seventy years. Most loving and devoted father and father-in-law of Elliot and Carol Lifson, Eleanor (Ellie) and Dr. Mel Sandler. Treasured Zady of Elissa and Neil Uditsky, Jason and Chaviva Lifson, Steven and Laura Lifson, Michael Lifson and fiancée Lisa Ventimiglia; Neil Sandler, Marcy and Marc Salzberg, and "Great-Zady Mackie" of Brad, Grace and Jamie Uditsky; Noa, Josh and Zev Lifson; Maya and Max Salzberg. Predeceased by his siblings and their spouses, Louis and Esther Lifshitz, Claire and Bill Goldberg, Yetta and Alec Pinsky. Dear brother-in-law of Dr. Harry and Helen Cohen, the late Dolly and the late Joe Weintraub. He will be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family wishes to acknowledge the exceptional care and compassion of Drs. Stuart Glaser and Regina Husa. Many thanks for the love and devotion of his caregivers, Linda, Ken, Rosie and Belle, and of the staff of Castel Royale and CLSC René Cassin. Burial at the Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem Congregation Cemetery, Tifereth Jerusalem Section, de la Savane. Shiva at the Castel Royale, 5740 Cavendish Blvd., C.S.L., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. daily.
