ENTIN, Laura (nee Batist)
Peacefully, at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, October 12, 2013, in her one hundred and first year. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Martin Entin for sixty-three years. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Donna and the late Larry Mikol, Martha Entin and Chris Pool, and the late Jane Entin. Proud grandmother of Jessica, Gabriel and Rachel, Carmel, Benjamin Luke and Krisann Mikol. Great-grandmother of Judea and Eli Benjamin. Predeceased by her loving siblings, Louis, Joseph and Manny Batist, Sadie Aronoff, Nettie Rosen, and Edith Gold. Born in Springhill, Nova Scotia in 1913, Montreal was her home. Long-time volunteer at the Royal Victoria Hospital Ross Gift Shop. Laura will be greatly missed by all her nieces and nephews. She will be especially remembered for keeping the extended family connected. The family is grateful to Gordon Heitshu and to Laura's caregivers for the respect and care they gave for the past eight years. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Monday, October 14 at 4:00 p.m. Burial at the Chevra Kadisha Congregation Section, Back River Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Berri St. Shiva strictly private.
