Joel SOURKES Obituary
Suddenly, on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at the age of ninety-five. Devoted husband of Rose Margolis for seventy-one years. Father of Cheryl of Toronto, and the late Dr. Allan. Loving grandfather of Dr. Zoë Druick (David) of Vancouver, Jonathan (Sheryl) of San Diego, California, Jennifer of Winnipeg, and Jeremy (Kim) of Winnipeg. Proud great- grandfather of seven. Son of the late Harry and the late Rebecca. Predeceased by his sisters, Edes Sarner (Sam), Mintzy Blueth (John), and Kreindel Garson (Harry). Joel served for four-and-a-half years as a Sergeant Major in the Canadian Air Force during World War II. Worked for over forty years in the importing trade. After retirement, Joel joined the Cote Saint-Luc Senior Men's Club where, for the past twenty years, he led their current events discussion group. A private funeral service took place on Sunday, January 5, 2014. Arrangements entrusted to Paperman & Sons.
