LAJA SZWIMER Obituary
(née Friling)
A Holocaust survivor. With dignity, on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Beloved wife of Szlomo. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Dr. Joseph Szwimer and Cheryl Weiss, Morris Szwimer and Dr. Robin Kugelmass, and the late Philip. Cherished Bubbie of Jason, Daniel, Erica, Rachel, Julia, and Benji. Dearest sister of Arie and Shoshana, and predeceased by her brothers, Shimon and Kalman. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Special thanks to Drs. Ruby Friedman, Gad Friedman and Tamim Niazi, and to the staff of the Jewish General Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, April 24 at 3:15 p.m. Burial at the Adath Israel Anshei Ozeroff Poale Zedek Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at her son Joseph's home, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. daily. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251.
