Issie TANZER Obituary
It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Issie, on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the age of eighty-four. Beloved husband of Doreen Spector and the late Gilda Rosenfeld. Cherished father and father-in-law of Harvey and Cheryl, Michael and Dawn, and Arthur. Proud and loving Papa and Zaidie of Dylan, Kyle, Gillian, Greer, Jonas, and Jessica. Predeceased by his siblings and their spouses Harry and Ettie Tanzer, Pearl and Eddie Torontow. Dearest brother-in-law of Larry and Norma Rosenfeld, the late Allan and the late Yetta Rosenfeld, Bernie and Ida Spector. Issie will be sadly missed and forever remembered by Lori Caplan and Phil Rimer, Ashley, Michael, and Andrew Leutner, his many dear friends, and by all who knew and loved him. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, September 4, at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem Congregation Cemetery, Tifereth Jerusalem Section, de la Savane. Shiva at his home, 5950 Cavendish Blvd., #1004, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily. Contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.

Although we never met your Dad, we feel how important he was in your life and your relationship was quite special and while this makes the loss so very painful, we do believe that your closeness and warm memories will bring you comfort though these difficult times.

Dearest Doreen. You cannot know how sad I am at Uncle Issie's passing. My fondest picutres as a child, are of him taking care of me...not real memories, but memories from pictures taken when I lived in Montreal with Bubby and Zaidie and Uncle Issie....he was about 14 or 15. My real memories start with him at about the age of 4 or 5 when he would visit Ottawa and ride me around on my tricycle.. He always took care of me when I was with him. I know how much he loved me and I loved him back. What I mostly remember is how proud he always was of me....a big thing for a little girl. I hope that your memories of him give you great comfort and peace. Love, Brenda
