A Holocaust survivor. On Tuesday, October 20, 2015, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of the late Laja Friling. Loving father and father-in- law of Dr. Joseph Szwimer and Cheryl Weiss, Morris Szwimer and Dr. Robin Kugelmass, and the late Philip Szwimer. Adoring Zaida of Jason, Daniel, Erica, Rachel, Julia, and Benji. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. The family would like to express their gratitude for the exceptional care and compassion provided by Dr. Ruby Friedman and the staff of the Jewish General Hospital, Rabbi Michael Wolff and doctors, nurses and staff of Maimonides, as well as Szlomo's caregivers, Hanna, Sheena and Esther. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, October 22 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Adath Israel Poale Zedek Anshei Ozeroff Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. daily, evening services at 7:30 p.m. Shiva location to be announced.
