On Saturday, August 20, 2016, at the age of ninety-five. Beloved wife of the late Sol Brownstein. Cherished mother and mother- in-law of Ian Brownstein, Nathalie Desmarais, Arlene Chinks and Gerald Stotland, Ron and Reva Brownstein. Loving grandmother of Matthew and Noa Brownstein, Caroline Brownstein; Alexandra and Ilan Goldberg; Joshua, Brooke, and Morgan Chinks; Bonnie and Ryan Brownstein. Proud 'GG' of Sari, and Remi Goldberg; Shirel Brownstein; Jayme, and Daniel Brownstein; and Austin Brownstein. Predeceased by her ten siblings, Mary Metzger (the late Jack), Abraham, Samuel (the late Lillian), Louis, Harry, Leah Geller (the late Irving), Joseph (the late Mildred), John Buddy, Helen Gasoi (the late Bill). Dear sister-in-law of Shirley Babb. Anita will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by Gerald's children, Mattie Chinks, and by her many nieces and nephews. Special mention to Louella, Ivan and Marvin Gasoi, and Sharon Geller, who travelled from near and far to visit, phone and send cards to our mother during her infirm years. The family wishes to thank her guardian angel, Shantal, for her unwavering patience, compassion and generosity, and allowing Anita to feel and look like a queen. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses volunteers and staff of the Mount Sinai Hospital for their care and devotion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W,, on Tuesday, August 23 at 12:00 noon. Burial at the Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem Congregation Cemetery, Kehal Yeshurin Section, de la Savane. Shiva at her daughter Arlene's home, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily. Ron will continue sitting shiva at his home in Toronto on Sunday, August 28.
