Harry BLITSTEIN Obituary
In his ninety-first year. Passed away peacefully with dignity at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, September 30, 2016. Beloved husband of seventy years, sweetheart of seventy-four years of Zippe Levine. Cherished father of Paula, and the late Eric Blitstein. Proud and loving Grandfather of Jonathan Guindi (Jennifer Morgan), Adam Guindi; Chana (Avigdor Boyko), Nina (Moshe Rubin). Adored great-grandfather of Kendrick Eric, and Gabriella Guindi; Leah Yehudis, Chaya Bracha, Mordechai, Batsheva, Malky, Ahuva, and Yisroel Nosson Boyko; Chaim, Tova, Ahuva, and Tehillah Rubin. Predeceased by his loving parents Elie and Eva; in-laws Ida and Nathan Levine; siblings Buddy (Ruth), Peter (Eva); brother-in-law and sister-in-law Herbie Levine (Charlotte), Pauline Young (Ely).
In 1946, Harry graduated from McGill University with a Gold Medal in Economics. He excelled at sports and was a lover of literature, history, political science and art. Harry was an incredibly gentle, distinguished and elegant man who will be greatly missed by all those who had the good fortune to know him.
Heartfelt thanks to his exceptional and loving caregiver, Julius Velasco. Our family expresses our deepest gratitude to everyone, professional and personal, who provided the ultimate care and compassion to our beloved Harry.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W., on Sunday, October 2 at 12:00 p.m. Burial at the Memorial Park Cemetery, de la Savane.
Following the burial friends and family are invited to his daughter's home until 4:00 p.m. The family will be receiving visitors Wednesday, October 5 till Friday, October 7, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. daily.

Dearest Zippe,
I just now read of Harry's passing last fall. I think of you both so often and remember you for all your warmth and kindness to us. To us, you were, and will always be, touchstones of authenticity. Please know how much we love you still.

Dear Zippe, I have just read the announcement of your beloved Harry's passing. Has it been 74 years? I remember the day you met, In our living room on Hutchison Street. And now it's 74 years later, what a ride you guys had!
I'm so sorry to have missed you, you know I would definitely been, there, if only I had known. My love to you and yours, may you have a future of good health, and wonderful memories.
