Mark WAINBERG Obituary
Tragically in Miami, Florida, on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Beloved husband of Susan Hubschman for forty-eight years. Devoted father and father-in-law of Dr. Zev and Cara of Los Angeles, Jonathan and Sarah of London, England. Cherished "Zaidy Mark" of Jake, Eliana, and Julia. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Lawrence and Paula Wainberg; and brother-in- law of Joanne and the late Henry Hubschman. Loving nephew of Lily Signer, and Helen Dinovitzer. Mark will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, colleagues and all those whose lives he touched. Funeral service took place from Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem Congregation on Friday, April 14. Due to the Festival of Passover, shiva commences Wednesday morning, April 19. Contributions in his memory may be made to the "Dr. Mark Wainberg Memorial Fund" c/o the Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem Congregation, (514) 489-3841, or to the "Dr. Mark Wainberg Memorial Fund for McGill AIDS Centre" c/o the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251.

If once you spoke with him, his goodness and generous spirit remained a lifetime. As devoted as he was to his great professional tasks, he shared his knowledge and warmth with those in the community with an open heart. How fortunate are we who had just a few minutes of his humanity in our lifetime. Surely he will be blessed.

Mark, gave me the opportunity of a lifetime.
Working in his lab without a formal degree.
We also shared the odd Glenfiddich together after lab hours, which we're almost 20 hours each day.
An individual with a purpose and wonderful sense of humour.
He will be missed by all.

My sympathies to the Wainberg family. I had the privilege to work on a large research project with him whilst working in the pharmaceutical industry. He also took care of my brother David Macdonald (RIP) with Dr. Gilmore. A brilliant man he was. RIP
