Holocaust Survivor
Peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, in her ninety-sixth year. Beloved wife and soulmate of the late Emil. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Ira and Kathryn, Theresia (Terry) and Sam Luft. Cherished Bubby of Joshua and Danielle Kroo, Gavriella Kroo and Danny Semaya; Jonathon and Michelle Luft, Aliza Luft and Jared McBride, and Jaclyn Luft. Adoring Great-Bubby of Mia, Harlow, Samson, Lillian, and Emmett. Dear sister of the late Tusia Grief, and predeceased by her four siblings who perished in the Holocaust. Beloved sister-in-law of Elizabeth Kroo Teitelbaum of Brooklyn, New York. She will be dearly missed by Max, and Peggy, and by all who knew and loved her. Many thanks and deep gratitude to her wonderful caregivers MJ (Martin John), Janet, and Susan for their exceptional care, devotion and love. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean- Talon St. W., on Friday, June 2 at 10:00 a.m. Burial at Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem Congregation Cemetery, Tifereth Jerusalem Section, de la Savane. Shiva at her home following burial until 4:00 p.m., Sunday through Wednesday after 1:00 p.m. daily. Morning services at Congregation Tifereth Beth David Jerusalem, evening services at the house of shiva at 8:20 p.m. Contributions in Lucia's memory may be made to the Montreal Holocaust Museum, (514) 345-2605.

Lucia was positive influence to everyone who was blessed to know her. I cherish the special lifelong friendship we had, along with the countless memories. I send my heavyhearted condolences to the entire Kroo clan. May she rest in eternal peace.
