Peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in her ninety- third year. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Edward. Devoted mother and mother-in- law of Esta and Henry Skoburn of Albany, NY, Morton and Beverley, Roslyn Mendelson and David Hodgins of Calgary, AB. Cherished grandmother of Heather and Greg Fronczek, Kara and Jeff Ellenbogen; Simon and Alice Mendelson, Asher Mendelson, Dana Mendelson and Michael Donovan; Anna and Zoe Hodgins. Proud great-grandmother of Abe and Millie Ellenbogen; Alexandra and Marnie Fronczek; Emet, Kol Dov, Baila and Naomi Mendelson. Predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Sidney and Madeleine Levine, Shirley and David Slopack. Sister-in-law of the late Sarah and the late Morton Korenberg, the late Hyman and the late Gertrude Mendelson, Milton and the late Claire Friefeld, Jack and Lola Mendelson. Madeline will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, family, special friends, and all who knew and loved her. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, July 2 at 12:00 noon. Burial at the Shomrim Laboker Congregation Cemetery, Beth Yehuda Section, de la Savane. Madeline will be forever remembered as a woman of strength, honesty and grace. She was the moral compass of our family and deeply loved. May her memory be a blessing.
