Henry Fenster was one of the most brave, creative and interesting people to ever walk this earth. Three generations of our family loved him and we still share stories and memories of his remarkable life.

CELINA, SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR LOSS. I TOO REMEMBER HENRY FROM THE ANNUAL CELEBRATIONS OF YOUR BIRTHDAY IN DECEMBER AT GIBBY'S, WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. WHEN I STAYED AT HOTEL DE LA MONTAGNE, THERE HE WAS GOING TO THE DISCO DOWNSTAIRS. BUT HE WAS REALLY IN HIS ELEMENT AT BELLE-NEIGE, AS HE COULD OUTPERFORM THE YOUNG HOT SHOTS ON THE SKI HILLS,EVEN THOUGH HE WAS INTO HIS LATER YEARS. HENRY WAS ALWAYS GRACIOUS AND HOSPITABLE WHEN GUESTS CAME TO BELLE-NEIGE. HE WILL BE SADLY MISSED.

I am so saddened to hear of the passing of my good friend Henry. I have so many fond memories, one in particular of our evenings dancing together at Thursday's on Cresent street in Montreal. (My husband Jeff didn't mind, he knew I was in good company while he was away on business)I was in my late thirty's, Henry seventyishh, of course he never revealed his real age to me. Age is only a number as he would say. It's how you live your life that is important. He had the vitality of a twenty year old. I remember the times we went dancing together at a club called Thursday's on Cresent street in Montreal. He had all the young teeny boppers waiting to get their turn to dance with him. He had such a young spirit, the fellows in the club were all envious. They wondered what does this (old guy) have that is so intriging to young women. hee! hee! Henry used to laugh and say those dumb smucks. I so miss the clicking sound of his cowboy boots I used to tease him about, the way he would knock them together, like a young little buck. Henry was a great conversationalist a wonderful listener and always provided words of wisdom and encouragement when needed. Another event comes to mind when Henry invited me to his ski resort (Blanche Neige) and what a wonderful day that was. He would ride down the slope with such excitement he almost couldn't contain himself. His wonderful smile that would stretch form ear to ear. Henry loved his daughter, he spoke so much of her, how proud he was of her accomplishments and of their close relationship. The Jewish holidays were always a special time for Henry, gatherings with his good friends and family members. Henry was a great storyteller, although at times he would repeat the same stories. He somehow would put a slight spin each time and was so animated when telling them. I of course would not remind him that I had already heard it before because you could see it gave him such pleasure.
Henry was a fighter, he wanted to live forever. He did everything in his power to lengthen his life on this earth, from hiring nurses to massage his feet for proper blood circulation to hiring a cook to provide him nutritional meals at home. Henry so wanted to have a kidney transplant and would do anything in his power to do so with all the risks involved. He would always say that you need to take risks in life, otherwise everything stays the same. It has been about 8 weeks ago since I last heard Henry's voice."The King" "Henry The Great"!! as he would always introduce himself with a Devilish laugh.
You were certainly "The King"
I will always think of you and miss you my good friend.
Love
