MARGRIT KAUFER

KAUFER, Margrit (née Feldmann) A Holocaust survivor. On Wednesday, October 11, 2017, in her ninety-ninth year. Wife of the late Leslie Kaufer. Beloved and wonderful mother and mother-in-law of Anna Kaufer and Morris Zimelstern, Danny Kaufer and Judith Lifshitz. Proud and adoring grandmother of Emily Kaufer and fiancé Brad Timsit, Rebecca Kaufer and Craig Baxter. Sister of the late Karol Feldman. Predeceased by her parents and four other siblings who perished in the Holocaust. Her life was filled with many new beginnings, and love and devotion to her family. Heartfelt thanks to her devoted caregivers, Maricel, Maribel, Jennifer and Joy. Sincere gratitude to the excellent staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Jewish General Hospital, and special thanks to Drs. Harvey Chang and Elizabeth MacNamara for their care, attention and compassion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Sunday, October 15 at 2:45 p.m. Burial at the Chevra Shaas Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva to be announced.
